Baltimore City Homeless Street Outreach Card

Are you concerned for yourself of someone else who may be sleeping outdoors?  Outreach and supporting services are available for people living on the streets and other places not meant for habitation. Call 2-1-1. There's always an answer!  Need answers and don’t know where to turn? 2-1-1 is a hotline providing free, confidential help in 150 languages with just about any health and human service issue you are facing. A trusted and caring call specialist is there for you 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

To get help, dial 2-1-1 or dial 1.800.492.0618. (Normal airtime and related charges may apply for cell phone users.)  In fiscal year 2015, 2-1-1 Maryland at United Way of Central Maryland answered more than 103,000 calls around food, housing, health care, utility assistance and more.

House of Ruth Maryland’s 24/7 hotline is a confidential lifeline to victims in need. Counselors are trained in crisis intervention, safety planning, counseling and legal referrals, and pro-active advocacy to victims, as well as their families, friends, and the community in general.

Homeless Veterans Hotline: 1-877-424-3838

Veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness—and their family members, friends and supporters—can make the call to or chat online with the National Call Center for Homeless Veterans, where trained counselors are ready to talk confidentially 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Baltimore Crisis Response offers a crisis and information referral hotline 24 hours a day, 7 days a week assisting people in crisis with emotional health and well-being services.

Community Action Partnership (CAP) Centers

CAP strives to reduce poverty by offering opportunities for low-income households through education, financial empowerment, housing and energy services, food resources and capacity building.  More information is available here.
