PUBLIC NOTICE

April 9, 2021

BALTIMORE CITY, MARYLAND

AMENDMENT TO ANNUAL ACTION PLAN FOR LOCAL FISCAL YEAR 2020/FEDERAL FISCAL YEAR 2019

Dear Community Partners,

Notice is hereby given that the City of Baltimore’s Mayor’s Office of Homeless Services (MOHS) is proposing, in accordance with regulations governing the consolidated planning process, to amend the Annual Action Plan for Local Fiscal Year 2020/Federal Fiscal Year 2019.

The purpose of this amendment to the Annual Action Plan for Local Fiscal Year 2020/Federal Fiscal Year 2019 is to re-allocate a total of $3,000,000 of special Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) Program funds allocated to the City of Baltimore through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), Public Law 116-136 from the Homelessness Prevention Project activities to Rapid Rehousing Project activities. Funds will assist clients with rental assistance and case management support services per the ESG eligible activities. This amendment repurposes unspent prevention funds due to an influx of other federal funds for prevention activities, and reallocates the $3,000,000 to increase funding for Rapid Rehousing. These additional funds for Rapid Rehousing will be used to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) among individuals and families who are homeless or receiving homeless assistance.
